MUMBAI : Yashlok Welfare Foundation, in collaboration with SBI Foundation, SBI-SG Global Securities Services Pvt. Limited and SBICAP Ventures Limited, held an impactful event enhancing road safety and emergency services for road accident victims at Yashwant Rao Chahan hall Mumbai. The event involved the distribution of helmets to Mumbai Traffic Police and the inauguration of two ambulances for providing free ambulance services dedicated towards the road accident victims on the Mumbai - Ahmedabad Highway.
The helmet distribution event is a part of the  Suraksha initiative, which has been designed to achieve road safety through upskilling of the disadvantaged segment of the society, specifically the persons with disabilities, underprivileged women and youth. These ISI Certified helmets for Mumbai Police are made from recycled ABS plastic. Such being the case, the initiative not only provided sustainable livelihood opportunities to people with disabilities, underprivileged women, and youth, but it has also prioritized the safety of those who tirelessly work to ensure smooth traffic flow and road safety.
Through the foundation's unique skill development program, beneficiaries were trained and employed for manufacturing these helmets for Mumbai Traffic Police. These Helmets will act as one of the crucial instruments to promote Road Safety Awareness on the streets of Mumbai. A total of 1600 helmets were provided free of cost to the Mumbai Traffic Police out of which 1600 helmets were donated by SBI Foundation, SBI-SG Global Securities Services Pvt. Ltd. and SBICAP Ventures Limited.
Another crucial element of the event was the inauguration of two fully equipped high impact ambulance for free service on the Mumbai - Ahmedabad highway. This initiative is part of Sanjeevani project. The Sanjeevani Project is a response to the alarming rate of road accidents on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway. Recognizing the urgent need to intervene, SBI Foundation, SBI-SG Global Securities Services Pvt. Ltd and SBICAP Ventures Limited joined hands with Yashlok Foundation and donated two fully equipped high impact ambulances. These multi-bed ambulances are fully equipped to provide immediate medical assistance to accident victims. The Sanjeevani Project not only seeks to rescue and provide immediate relief to the victims but also brings comfort and reassurance to those in distress. In the event of an accident within the serviceable stretch, the Highway Traffic Police are empowered to promptly dispatch these ambulances to the accident site, ensuring victims receive medical attention as quickly as possible.
