With this spirit, Narayan Seva Sansthan, in association with Shri Radha Krishna Charitable Foundation USA, organized a mega free disability surgery screening, selection, and measurement camp for Japanese and German technology-based 3D-printed Narayan Modular Artificial Limbs on Sunday at Nico Hall, Dadar (East), Mumbai. </div><div> The institution’s team of expert doctors and P&O (Prosthetic and Orthotic) specialists conducted detailed assessments of each patient’s physical condition, balance, muscle control, and movement to initiate the customized design process for artificial limbs according to individual needs. </div><div> The Narayan Modular Artificial Limb is based on Japanese and German engineering technology and uses high-quality, lightweight, durable, and strong components. Due to the 3D-printed socket technology, the fitting of the limb becomes more precise, enabling users to experience greater comfort, balance, and ease in mobility. Compared to traditional prosthetics, this technology is considered more ergonomic, lightweight, and long-lasting. </div><div> Dr. Manas Ranjan Sahu stated that the digital measurement system allows customized limbs to be developed according to each beneficiary’s body structure. This significantly reduces issues such as friction, pain, and imbalance, enabling users to walk and move in a more natural manner. Many differently-abled individuals appeared excited to be connected with such advanced technology-based prosthetic services for the first time. </div><div> Mumbai Branch President Mahesh Agarwal and Trustee Devendra Chaubisa welcomed chief guest Jay Shree Ben from Radha Krishna Charitable Foundation, Dadar MLA Kalidas Kolambkar, Siyarams Group’s Ramesh Asha Poddar, Rotary Queen City President Dr. Shyam and Sadhana Singhania, social worker Nimmi Torani, Agarwal Sammelan’s Shivkant Khetan, Ojas Sansthan’s Atul Shah, former Rotary Governor Dr. Rajendra Agrawal, along with members and guests of the institution. </div><div>The camp was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Jay Shree Ben, MLA Kalidas Kolambkar, and other dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said that Narayan Seva Sansthan is carrying out true social innovation by bringing modern technology to the last person in society. They added that providing world-class prosthetic limbs free of cost to economically weaker differently-abled individuals is an inspiring and highly commendable initiative. </div><div> Presiding over the event, MLA Kalidas Kolambkar said that the institution is not merely providing treatment but is restoring dignity and self-reliance to differently-abled individuals through technology. He remarked that when a person stands on their feet again after years or regains the ability to work with their hands, it symbolizes not just medical care but the rebuilding of life itself. </div><div>More than 170 differently-abled individuals from all age groups benefited from the camp. </div><div> Trustee and Director Devendra Chaubisa presented the camp report and informed that the institution’s doctors and P&O team examined all patients and conducted digital measurements for 70 beneficiaries for 3D-printed Narayan modular artificial arms and legs, while 29 beneficiaries were measured for calipers. Around 31 differently-abled patients were selected for free corrective surgeries during the camp. </div><div> He further stated that the patients who underwent casting and digital scanning during the camp would receive specially designed modular Narayan limbs within the next one to two months at another fitting camp to be organized in Mumbai. These limbs are lightweight, durable, flexible, and suitable for long-term use, enabling beneficiaries to participate in education, employment, and daily life activities with greater confidence. </div><div>The institution arranged free meals, tea, and refreshments for all patients and their family members. A 40-member expert team from the institution rendered services during the camp, while Hari Prasad Laddha served as the camp coordinator. </div><div> It is noteworthy that Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working in the field of rehabilitation, treatment, and empowerment of differently-abled individuals since 1985. The institution’s founder Kailash Manav has been honored with the Padma Shri award, while President Prashant Agarwal received the President’s Award in 2023 for the empowerment of differently-abled individuals. So far, the institution has provided free artificial limbs to over 39,388 differently-abled individuals and free medical treatment to more than 452,000 patients.</div>
