Mumbai: Kia India, one of the country’s leading mass-premium automakers, recorded its highest-ever monthly sales since entering the Indian market, with wholesale volumes of 32,017 units in September 2026, registering a 41% year-on-year growth over the 22,700 units sold in September 2025. The landmark performance marks a significant milestone in Kia India’s journey and underscores the sustained customer confidence in the brand and its evolving product portfolio.
The company carried this momentum into Q3 2026, recording sales of 89,259 units, registering a growth of 38.5% over 64,443 units in Q3 2025.
Kia India’s cumulative sales for the January–September 2026 period reached 253,008 units, marking an increase of 22.5% over the 206,582 units recorded during the same period last year. The sustained performance reflects growing customer confidence in the brand and the continued relevance of its evolving product portfolio.
Sales momentum has continued to be led by the Seltos and Sonet, which have maintained strong demand across their respective segments. The Seltos has consistently averaged more than 10,000 units per month since its launch in January, while the Sonet continues to perform strongly in the sub-compact SUV segment. The Carens, Carens Clavis and Clavis EV further strengthen Kia India’s presence in the family mobility space, offering customers greater choice across ICE and electric powertrains.
Within this expanding portfolio, the Syros EV continues to gain strong demand momentum, reflecting growing customer interest in accessible and feature-rich electric mobility. The model broadens Kia India’s EV offering while addressing diverse everyday usage requirements.
Meanwhile, the newly launched Kia Sorento, offered in India with Diesel and Hybrid powertrain options, has received encouraging response from customers. The Sorento also marks an important step in Kia India’s broader multi-powertrain strategy, with the hybrid powertrain alongside the recently launched Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG, expanding customer choice across conventional petrol and diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric powertrains. This diversified approach enables Kia India to address a wider range of mobility needs, from everyday commuting and family mobility to premium, long-distance travel.
Supporting the growing adoption of electric mobility, Kia India’s EV portfolio is backed by an ownership proposition addressing key customer considerations around acquisition cost, long-term battery assurance and resale value, through the Assured Buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty.
Commenting on the performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, "Our strong performance in September and across the third quarter reflects the continued trust of our customers and the strength of Kia’s evolving portfolio. The Seltos and Sonet continue to be key contributors to our growth, while the strong response to the Sorento and Syros EV reinforces our strategy of expanding into new segments and powertrain categories in line with evolving customer aspirations.
