Mumbai: Renowned filmmaker, writer, creative professional and podcast host Avinash Tripathi was honoured with the prestigious Vindhy Iconic Business Award’ for his outstanding contribution to creative filmmaking and his remarkable work on socially relevant subjects.
The jury appreciated Tripathi’s distinctive creative vision and his long-standing commitment to using cinema and storytelling as a medium for social awareness. He was recognised as one of the most creative filmmakers and among the most prolific short filmmakers working on social issues having created more than 750 short films and documentaries on subjects including tourism, Beti Bachao, child labour, drug abuse, smoking, Behrupiyatraditions and several other important social and human-interest issues.
The award was presented by renowned actress Ameesha Patel and noted philanthropist and entrepreneur Dr. Manju Lodha.
The jury members expressed their happiness in honouring Avinash Tripathi, acknowledging his ability to transform serious social concerns into engaging and emotionally compelling visual narratives. His work over the years has established a distinctive space where creativity, cinema and social responsibility come together.
Apart from filmmaking, Tripathi has also made a significant contribution as a writer and lyricist. Several of his songs have been rendered by celebrated voices including Shaan, Kavita Krishnamurti, Kavita Seth, Anweshaa and Abhishek Ray among other accomplished artistes.
Avinash Tripathi is also the popular host of the podcast Beyond the Frame with Avinash Tripathi, where he explores cinema, creativity, culture, personalities and stories that exist beyond the conventional frame.
His creative journey has also taken him to international platforms. He was invited to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival to conduct a workshop on creative and cinema writing. He was also invited to Global Diaspora Glasgow during the Commonwealth Games further reflecting the international recognition of his work in cinema, creativity and cultural communication.
Speaking on the occasion, organiser Vishnu Mishra praised Avinash Tripathi’s distinctive and powerful writing style and described him as one of the most deserving recipients of the prestigious honour. He said that Tripathi’s ability to combine creativity with social consciousness makes his work particularly significant in contemporary filmmaking.
The Vindhy Iconic Business Award thus recognises not merely a filmmaker’s body of work, but a creative journey built around storytelling, social responsibility and the belief that cinema can entertain, inspire and bring meaningful change.
