Mumbai: All Play Productions’ debut Marathi short film ‘Bol Bol Raani, Itta Itta Aani’, written and directed by Varshaa Raane, has been officially selected and honoured at the 16th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival 2026. The film will also be screened at this prestigious platform, marking a significant milestone for a debut filmmaker.
The festival is held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke and aims to promote meaningful, progressive cinema. Selection at such a platform reflects the strength of the film’s subject and presentation.
‘Bol Bol Raani, Itta Itta Aani’ is a socially relevant film that explores the conflict between superstition and awareness. The story revolves around a young girl who challenges deeply rooted beliefs in her village. Notably, Varshaa Raane herself plays a key role in the film, adding a personal and authentic dimension to the narrative.
Despite being made with limited resources and a modest budget, the film has been appreciated for its concept and execution. The project saw active participation from students, faculty, and team members of Atharva University and Atharva School of Film and Television.
With this recognition, Varshaa Raane and her team are now gearing up for their next feature film, marking the beginning of a promising creative journey ahead.
