Mumbai: At 18, when most aspiring artists dream of their first big role, Iravati Nadgauda was fighting an unexpected battle. In 1986, shortly after completing her 12th grade, she was diagnosed with mononeuritis multiplex—a rare neurological condition that changed her life overnight. The aggressive treatment led to complete hair loss, rapid weight gain, and five years of being bedridden.
But the illness never broke her spirit.
Once she recovered, Iravati returned to acting with renewed determination. She rebuilt her career steadily, becoming one of Marathi television’s most familiar faces with 22+ serials to her credit. Her artistic journey extended to theatre as well, where she delivered impactful performances in 15+ plays, along with musicals and live shows that highlighted her acting and singing talent.
Her natural charm also made her a favourite in advertising, leading to campaigns for Surf Excel, Casper, D Cold, Sunsweet Oil, and over 150 press ads, making her a trusted face across India.
Recently, Iravati completed her role as Bharti in Manpasand Ki Shaadi on Colors TV—an experience she considers a true turning point. The show introduced her to audiences across India and brought her heartfelt appreciation for her grounded, emotionally rich portrayal.
“When Manpasand Ki Shaadi came to me, I felt seen,” Iravati says. “After everything I went through, it felt like a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late for life to change.”
From being bedridden for half a decade to earning national recognition, Iravati Nadgauda’s journey is a powerful story of resilience and reinvention. With her recent work opening new doors and expanding her audience, she is stepping into a well-deserved new chapter—shining brighter than ever.
