“I Refused to Fall for the Casting Couch Trap,” Says Iravati Nadgauda as She Recalls the Offer She Walked Away From

The Manpasand Ki Shaadi actress chose dignity over a dream debut — and her decision still inspires.

Actor Iravati Nadgauda, who’s currently winning hearts in Manpasand Ki Shaadi on Colors TV, recently opened up about an early-career experience that tested her integrity and courage in the face of the casting couch.

“Back in 2000, I was offered a lead role by a producer. Everything seemed like a big opportunity for a newcomer,” Iravati recalls. “But a few days later, his assistant called and asked me to come to Lonavala — without any details or explanation. The way it was conveyed made me question the real intentions behind it.”

Realising what might be at play, Iravati made a decision that spoke volumes about her character. “I refused to go and immediately stepped away from the project. That was not the way I wanted to enter the industry,” she says firmly. “For me, dignity and respect have always been far more important than shortcuts.”

Today, with audiences praising her for her grace and depth on screen, Iravati Nadgauda’s story stands as a powerful reminder that talent shines brightest when backed by integrity — and that saying no at the right time can often be the strongest move of all.
