Mumbai : Maharashtra Waqf Board Chairman Sameer Kazi has donated ₹11 lakh from his own funds to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support flood-affected families in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. His contribution reflects a gesture of deep empathy and compassion towards those suffering from the recent floods and heavy rains that devastated large parts of the region.
Kazi announced this donation during Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Dussehra rally, where he was personally present.
Speaking to the media, Kazi said, “My contribution is just a drop in the ocean compared to the immense losses faced by farmers. However, if all of us come forward and contribute, even in small amounts, to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, it can collectively bring great relief and help farmers rebuild their lives.”
Expressing his concern over the widespread damage, Kazi added, “The floods and rains have caused unimaginable destruction. It is our moral duty as citizens to stand with those in pain. I have made this contribution with heartfelt empathy for the affected families, hoping it will inspire others to join in and extend their support.”
