Mumbai: It was a proud and historic moment for Mumbai's academic and civic community when the Valnai-Mith Chowki Metro Station was officially renamed "Atharva University – Valnai Metro Station" and inaugurated.
The naming ceremony was inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Sunil Rane, Founder and Chancellor of Atharva University, and Varsha Rane, Vice President of Atharva Foundation, were prominently present on the occasion.
The event was held at the Metro Station Complex, Malad (West), and was attended by senior university officials, faculty, administrative staff, and a large number of students.
Piyush Goyal said that this station has now become a symbol of academic excellence and social contribution. Atharva University has created an impressive legacy, and today's inauguration is a tribute to that.
Expressing gratitude for this honor, Sunil Rane said that this moment marks the university's journey and its growing role in Mumbai's educational and social life. It's not just a name, but represents our values, our commitment to society, and our vision for future generations.

The event also included activities such as the unveiling of a new station signboard, media interactions, and student interactions with dignitaries. This is one of the few occasions in Mumbai when a metro station has been named after a private university, reflecting the institution's significant role in the field of education and innovation.

Atharva University extends its heartfelt thanks to the Mumbai Metro administration, government representatives, and all partners who helped make this historic achievement possible.
