Mumbai : Udaipur-based Narayan Seva Sansthan, renowned for its service to differently-abled individuals and humanitarian work, will organize a free Narayan Limb and Caliper Fitment Camp in Mumbai on Sunday, June 8. The camp will be held at Nico Hall, Naigaon Cross Road, near Wadala Udyog Bhavan, Dadar (East), Mumbai – 400014 (Maharashtra), from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pre-selected beneficiaries will receive services free of charge.
Sharing this information, Mahesh Agrawal, President of the Mumbai branch of the Sansthan, stated that for the past 40 years, the organization has been working tirelessly to provide services to the differently-abled near their hometowns across various states.
As part of this ongoing effort, Narayan Seva Sansthan had conducted a free Narayan Limb Measurement Camp in Mumbai on March 23, where over 500 patients were assessed. Of these, 419 individuals had lost their hands or legs due to road accidents or other mishaps. They were selected for free artificial limbs, and their measurements and casting were done during the camp.
Agrawal further informed that the Sansthan will provide state-of-the-art German technology-based Narayan Limbs to hundreds of individuals at once, giving them a new lease on life. Many of these individuals had become dependent on their families due to their disability. By making them self-reliant, the Sansthan is helping reintegrate them into the mainstream of society. For a prosperous society, the empowerment of every citizen is essential. Empowering the differently-abled will accelerate the nation's development.
During the press conference, Mahesh Agrawal, Camp In-Charge Hariprasad Laddha, Local Ashram In-Charge Lalit Lohar, and Ramesh Sharma also unveiled the camp’s official poster.
Responding to media queries, Agrawal noted that Narayan Seva Sansthan has not only organized camps across India but also in international locations like Kenya, Uganda, Meru, Tanzania, and Nepal. On average, around 1,500 individuals receive artificial limbs from the organization every month.
Dignitaries and partners of the Sansthan have been invited to attend the inauguration of the camp. Free meals will be provided to all the differently-abled participants attending the camp. After receiving their Narayan Limb fittings, beneficiaries will also receive structured walking training. A 40-member team from the Sansthan will be present to provide dedicated service throughout the event.
Previously treated beneficiaries will also attend the camp to share their experiences and encourage the newly treated individuals.
Since 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has been dedicated to the mission of “Nar Seva – Narayan Seva” (Service to Humanity is Service to God). The organization’s founder, Shri Kailash Manav Ji, was honored with the Padma Shri by the President of India for his humanitarian work. On May 30, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also recognized Manav Ji in Delhi under the category of “Community Service and Social Upliftment.”
The President of the Sansthan, Prashant Agrawal, has empowered lakhs of differently-abled individuals through medical care, education, skill development, and sports academies. In 2023, he was honored with the National Award by the President of India.
Till date, the Sansthan has fitted over 40,000 artificial limbs. It now aims to restore mobility and independence to the differently-abled of Mumbai by providing free prosthetic limbs on a large scale.
