Mumbai : Entire city of Mumbai echoed with chants like "Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya" (Come soon next year, Lord Ganpati), and in the same devotional atmosphere, Union Minister and North Mumbai MP Piyush Goyal gave farewell to Lord Ganpati during the immersion ceremony in his constituency, Malad. The BMC, local BJP unit, and police had made extensive arrangements, and devotees could be seen crowding every street and alley. The beautifully decorated idols of Lord Ganesh were carried away by devotees dancing to the beats of drums and traditional instruments, giving the lord a grand farewell.
On this occasion, Commerce and Industry minister Goyal encouraged women, children, and all Ganesh devotees, while also acknowledging and appreciating the commitment of the party’s office bearers and workers. At the immersion ceremony organized by Malad Vishan Sabha president of BJP, Sunil Koli at Bhujale Talao, Goyal mentioned that Ganeshotsav is not just a festival, but this devotional revelry unites all sections of society, especially the youth. Several party workers took selfie with him.
Notably, during the 10 days of Ganeshotsav, senior BJP leader Goyal paid visits around 50 Ganesh pandals to strengthen the spirit of devotion and faith, most of them located in North Mumbai. Two days ago, he had visited the famous Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh pandal with his family, offering prayers for the prosperity and development of Mumbai and the country. On that occasion, he also reminisced about his 32-year-long association with Lalbaugcha Raja.
