Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the 'Drug-Free Mumbai' campaign in Maharashtra has become stronger - Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Maharashtra government's 'Drug-Free Mumbai' campaign, saying it is an important step towards empowering and empowering youth and building a drug-free society. He emphasized the importance of public awareness, the collective participation of families, society, and various organizations to realize the goal of a drug-free India. He said that the energy and positive thinking of youth are the greatest strengths of a developed India and extended his best wishes for the success of the 'Drug-Free Mumbai' campaign. His letter to this effect was read out during the launch of the 'Drug-Free Mumbai' campaign.
The "Drug Free Mumbai" campaign was launched by CM Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Konkan Divisional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal, Mumbai City District Magistrate Aanchal Goyal, and Mumbai Suburban District Magistrate Saurabh Katiyar, along with dignitaries from various fields, were present on the occasion.
CM Fadnavis stated that PM Modi has pledged a "drug-free India." To fulfill this pledge, it is essential to free Mumbai and the entire Maharashtra from drugs. India is a nation of youth, and drugs are being used to weaken the country from within. Therefore, everyone needs to fight collectively against the entire drug ecosystem. If you witness drug sales or any illegal activity related to drugs in your vicinity, report it to the police. The identity of the informant will be kept confidential, and anyone providing useful information will be rewarded.
Cabinet Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha has been appointed as the Chairman of the High-Level Committee for the Drug De-addiction Public Awareness Campaign. On this occasion, he stated that launching the "Drug-Free Mumbai" campaign is a crucial need of the hour. India's enemies are conspiring to bring the country's young generation into the grip of drugs. Therefore, it is essential for the youth to remain vigilant and unite in the fight against this drug menace. The anti-drug campaign is continuing throughout Maharashtra, including Mumbai, under the guidance of CM Fadnavis. In line with the vision expressed by PM Modi, spreading public awareness to the last person in society is the need of the hour for a brighter future for the youth.
Mangal Prabhat Lodha further stated that the entire responsibility cannot be left solely to the government or the police system. Every citizen, parent, teacher, and social organization must contribute to this campaign. "Drug-Free Mumbai" is not just a government campaign, but a collective responsibility of the entire society. CM Fadnavis was requested to ensure active participation from all sections of society in this campaign. He accepted it positively, and I express my gratitude for this.
Anti-national forces will continue to try to push youth into drug addiction. Therefore, parental awareness and continuous communication with children is essential. 'Drug Free Mumbai' is not a one-day campaign; rather, it will be a continuous mass movement until Mumbai is completely drug-free. PM Modi has launched numerous schemes for the all-round development of youth. It is our desire that youth choose the right path, acquire appropriate skills, and build a bright future for themselves and their families. Through the Skill Development Department, we are providing youth with education as well as various skills. Thousands of skill development centers have been established across the state. These skills will make students employable. We also strive to turn employable youth into entrepreneurs. To this end, the "CM Mahafund" scheme will be launched on August 15th, with the first phase aiming to provide financial assistance to one lakh students.
On this occasion, Mangal Prabhat Lodha appealed to all citizens to ensure active participation in this campaign and come together in solidarity for the welfare of society to realize the dream of a drug-free Mumbai.
Committees for drug de-addiction awareness will be formed in all schools and colleges across the state. A training manual designed to train the members of these committees was also released on this occasion.
Under this campaign, numerous programs will be organized at various levels throughout the year. This will bring together Mumbai's schools, colleges, counselors, parents, and various social organizations to create widespread public awareness against drugs. The primary objective of this campaign is to spread the message of "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life" to every segment of society and to inspire youth to lead a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
