Mumbai: Mahalaxmi Saras 2026, currently being held at BKC, is receiving an overwhelming response from Mumbaikars and has now achieved a historic business milestone. On 9 May 2026 alone, the exhibition recorded a remarkable turnover of nearly ₹6 crore in a single day, making it one of the most significant achievements in the history of Mahalaxmi Saras. Since its commencement on 2 May 2026, the exhibition has generated a total business of ₹21 crore so far, while organisers have set a target of ₹40 crore overall business.

Strong Demand for Products Made by Women Self-Help Groups.
The exhibition has been organised with the objective of providing. 
wider market access to rural women self-help groups and economically empowering women entrepreneurs. 

Women entrepreneurs from across the state are participating in the exhibition, showcasing handicrafts, traditional food products, household items, artistic creations and various innovative products. Citizens are showing tremendous interest in these products, creating an atmosphere of excitement and confidence among women entrepreneurs and self-help groups.

Exhibition Extended Following Public Demand:

Considering the massive footfall and enthusiastic response from visitors, citizens had been strongly demanding an extension of Mahalaxmi Saras 2026. 

Taking cognisance of this public demand, Maharashtra Rural:

Development Minister Jaykumar Gore took an important initiative, following which the exhibition has now been extended till 17 May 2026. The extension will allow more citizens to experience rural culture, traditional art forms and products created by women self-help groups.

Entire ‘Umed’ Team Deployed for Visitor Support:

To ensure that visitors, customers and women entrepreneurs do not face any inconvenience, the entire ‘Umed’ administration and support team is continuously working at the venue. Umed Chief Executive Officer Nilesh Sagar and Chief Operating Officer Nikhilkumar Oswal, along with the entire team, are closely monitoring all arrangements and facilities at the exhibition site.

Free Bus Service and Visitor Facilities:

For the convenience of visitors, special free bus services have been started from Bandra East Railway Station and Kurla West Railway Station. 

Wheelchair facilities have also been arranged for specially-abled visitors. The entire exhibition venue is fully air-conditioned, including the food court area. As a result, large numbers of citizens are visiting Mahalaxmi Saras 2026 along with their families and enjoying the exhibition experience.
