Mumbai: Ajeenkya DY Patil University and Dr. Homi Bhabha State University have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening collaboration in academics, scientific research and innovation.
The agreements, signed on May 21, include a partnership between ADYPU and HBSU, along with a separate MoU between the ADYPU Defence Research Innovation Foundation (DRIF) and HBSU. The collaboration focuses on promoting interdisciplinary research and innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cyber technology and forensic science.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both institutions. HBSU was represented by Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajnish Kamat, Institute of Science Director Dr. S.B. Kulkarni and Registrar Dr. Vilas Padhye. ADYPU was represented by Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jain, Registrar Dr. Sudhakar Shinde, General Manager Priscilla Wilson, Dr. Prashant Kumbharkar and Dr. Suresh Kumar.
As part of the academic partnership, both universities will facilitate student exchange programmes for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students. The MoU also includes provisions for joint faculty research, seminars, workshops, conferences and access to laboratory, library and training facilities.
The DRIF-HBSU agreement will focus on advanced research initiatives, including setting up joint research laboratories and innovation centres. The collaboration will also support internships, live projects, skill development programmes, startup incubation, patent generation and technology transfer aligned with national goals of indigenous innovation and self-reliance.
Representatives from both institutions said the partnership would provide students and faculty with greater opportunities for collaborative research and practical innovation-based learning experiences.
ADYPU said the initiative further strengthens its growing national academic and research network and reflects its commitment to innovation-driven education and research excellence.
