Writer. Director. Producer. Composer. Theatre artist. Storyteller:

Sammir I Patel wears many hats—but storytelling remains his core. From the laugh-out-loud Hotel Beautifool to the emotionally resonant Pfa: Love Mom & Dad, and the award-winning Milenge Jannat Mein, his body of work reflects a rare balance: commercial instinct with emotional depth. Through SIP Productions, he continues to back new voices and stories that dare to feel different.

The Director’s Cut: Sammir I Patel:

On navigating genres and choosing stories:

“There is always humour in every script. In Pfa, it was subtle, with strong emotional depth. In Milenge Jannat Mein, it was black humour layered with philosophy. And in Sansani, it’s a thriller-comedy—situational, organic, and driven by chaos.

Humour finds its way into my stories naturally. The emotion and genre shift depending on what the story demands.”

On the defining moments that shaped him

“Commercial theatre made me the filmmaker I am today. It taught me the pulse of the audience. In theatre, reactions are instant—you know immediately if something works.

That raw, unfiltered connection is something I carry into every film. It keeps me honest.”

On backing newcomers:

For Patel, Sansani isn’t just a film—it’s a platform.
“It feels amazing. I believed in them, and they delivered. I’ve been training actors since my theatre days and through my workshops, so seeing them shine on screen is deeply satisfying.

But talent alone isn’t enough—it’s attitude and dedication that take you forward. These newcomers had both.”

From Workshop to Screen: Vishal Dubey’s Full-Circle Moment

Every film has a story behind the story—and for actor Vishal Dubey, Sansani is exactly that.

Playing ‘Pencil’, a quirky hacker and one-third of the film’s eccentric gangster trio, Dubey’s journey is rooted in patience.

“I attended Sammir Sir’s workshop about four years ago in Bandra and stayed in touch, always wondering if I’d ever get an opportunity. Then, after three and a half years, he called me for Pencil. It felt surreal—like everything had come full circle.”

Watching himself on screen was a moment he won’t forget.

“I was literally falling off my chair laughing! The film is a crazy entertainer. From learning in a workshop to being part of this film—and then watching it come alive—it’s been an incredible ride.

Honestly, it’s gone beyond our expectations. Hoping for a blockbuster!”

The Bigger Picture:

At its heart, Sansani is more than just a genre-bending entertainer. It’s a reflection of Sammir I Patel’s belief system—where humour meets chaos, newcomers find a stage, and stories are allowed to evolve organically.

And if early reactions are anything to go by, this is one story that’s just getting started.
