Mumbai (Nilesh Khandare): The 12th edition of OSH India, held in Mumbai, brought industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators together to spotlight workplace safety advancements. Mahesh Kudav, President of the Safety Appliances Manufacturers Association (SAMA), highlighted the growth potential in India's safety appliance market, which is poised to expand from $250 million to $1 billion within five years, driven by an annual growth rate of 11-15%. Kudav emphasized the need for stronger networking platforms to bridge gaps between manufacturers, suppliers, and end-users.
Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, underscored the criticality of occupational safety as India's workforce surges to a projected 643.3 million in 2024. He stated, “OSH India has become an indispensable platform for advancing safety culture, enabling knowledge exchange, and fostering collaboration. Prioritizing workforce safety is not just ethical but a strategic imperative for sustainable growth.”
The event showcased state-of-the-art innovations, including AI-driven safety measures, and garnered strong support from associations such as SAMA, AIAI, and ITTA, among others. This collaboration reflects a unified commitment to elevating workplace safety standards amidst India’s rapid industrialization.
