The unsung story of India’s first Olympic winner - Khashaba

Mumbai : Jio Studios announced the commencement of filming for its prestigious upcoming Marathi film Khashaba, with acclaimed director Nagraj Manjule helming the biopic. This cinematic venture pays homage to Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav, who clinched a historic wrestling medal in the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, making him the first Indian in post Independent India to win an individual Olympic medal.
A tale of triumph and tenacity, set against the backdrop of post-independence India, Khashaba explores the extraordinary journey of an unsung hero who overcame adversities with his unwavering dedication. From his humble beginnings to his remarkable win, Khashaba's story is a testament to the triumph of the human spirit.
Director Nagraj Manjule said on the occasion, “Embarking on my third Marathi film post Sairat; all set for an ambitious production in collaboration with Jio Studios. The groundwork for Khashaba has been underway for the past three years. I am thrilled shooting commences from today”.
Jio Studios presents, produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Gargi Kulkarni & Aatpat Productions, Khashaba is slated for a worldwide release in 2025.
