Benchmark indices ended in the green in today’s trading session with sectors except banking trading positive for the day. IT, energy, metal, and FMCG stocks helped markets in gaining momentum.

Nifty went up by 0.32% or 34.65 points and closed at 10,802.70, while S&P BSE Sensex surged by 0.27% or 99.36 points and closed at 36,693.69.

Around 1110 shares advanced, 175 shares remained unchanged, while 1543 shares declined.

Tech Mahindra (5.54%), Hindalco Industries (3.79%), HCL Technologies (3.74%), JSW Steel (3.26%), and Reliance Industries (3.23%) were among top Nifty gainers in today’s trading session.

Power Grid (2.20%), HDFC Bank (1.95%), Bajaj Finance (2.10%), HDFC (1.72%), and ICICI Bank (1.72%), on the other hand, were among top Nifty losers.

BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap ended flat.

Sadbhav Engineering

The shares of Sadbhav Engineering went up by 4.92% and traded at Rs. 51.15 after the company received the buy call on its stocks.

Yes Bank

Shares of Yes Bank declined by 13.70% and traded at Rs. 22.05 after the bank declared the floor price of its FPO to be fixed at Rs.12 per share.

Biocon Limited

Biocon received the DGCI’s approval to market its Itolizumba Injection for emergency use in the country. The injection will be used to treat patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 symptoms. The stocks of the company went up by 0.17% and traded at Rs. 415.00.

Avenue Supermarts Limited

Stocks of Avenue Supermarts went down by 4.29% and traded at Rs. 2223.00 after the company reported a fall of 87.59% in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of the financial year 2021.

RIL

Shares of Reliance Industries Limited went up by 3.23% and traded at Rs. 1938.70 after the company received an investment of Rs.730 crore for 0.15% stake from Qualcomm towards its Jio Platforms.

IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited

IRB Infra bagged the project of 6 Lanning of the National Corridor of NH-19 highway in the state of West Bengal. As a result, the stocks of the company went up by 1.39% and traded at Rs. 123.75.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited

The company announced a reduction of 27% in the prices of FabiFlu from Rs. 103 per tablet to Rs. 75 per tablet. Stocks of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited tripped down by 2.96% and traded at Rs. 414.00 in today’s trading session.

Indian Rupee

Indian rupee traded flat in today’s trading session and ended at Rs. 75.19 against the US dollar amid the volatile domestic equity markets.

Oil

The prices of crude oil dropped in today’s session owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the US and other parts of the world.

Global Market Traded Positive

Global Markets including the European markets traded higher despite the rising number of coronavirus cases in some parts of the world as investors look forward to an earning season. Nasdaq went up by 0.66%, FTSE MIB and FTSE 100 surged 0.71% and 1.19% respectively, Nikkei 225 went up by 2.22% while Hang Seng went up by 0.17%.
