Ltd., India's pioneering AI-led digital food labelling SaaS platform, in collaboration with the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), successfully concluded its third webinar, "Shelf-Ready for Europe: A Food Exporter's Guide to EU Labelling Compliance,". The session recorded over 300 registrations, with nearly 200 companies and more than 170 active participants joining live.</div><div>The response reflects a growing urgency among Indian food businesses to understand European Union labelling requirements before their products reach international shelves. Labelling non-compliance remains among the leading causes of product rejections and port detentions in EU markets, and the session addressed this gap with a regulation-by-regulation walkthrough of what the EU mandates and what Indian exporters most commonly miss.</div><div>The webinar covered the 12 mandatory fields every EU-bound food label must carry: the legal name of the food, a complete ingredient list in descending order by weight, allergen declarations with proper highlighting across all 14 EU-mandated categories, Quantitative Ingredient Declarations, net quantity, best-before or use-by dates, storage instructions, the name and address of a responsible EU-based Food Business Operator, country of origin for applicable categories, instructions for use, a nutrition declaration per 100g or 100ml, and a lot or batch number. Participants were also informed that labels must be in the official language of each EU country where the product is sold.</div><div>The session was designed with Indian product categories in mind. Exporters of spices, Indian snacks, ready-to-eat meals, ready-to-cook products, and packaged foods received category-specific guidance. Common compliance gaps covered included incorrect date format usage, missing EU importer addresses, undeclared allergens in spice blends and snack mixes, and mandatory warning text requirements for products containing azo colours, aspartame, polyols above 10%, and irradiated ingredients.</div><div>The webinar also included a live demonstration of FoLSol®, LabelBlind's AI-powered label compliance platform, which validates food labels against 53 FSSAI regulations in approximately three minutes.</div><div>The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) is a national trade promotion organization that works closely with the Government of India to facilitate exports and enhance India’s global trade footprint. According to recent reports, under “Operation Sindhu” and other evacuation efforts, the embassy has taken several significant steps to safely bring back thousands of Indians.</div><div><br></div><div>With Iranian airspace closed and limited flight availability, the embassy has coordinated with Armenia and Azerbaijan to arrange evacuations via land routes. Since the conflict began, more than 2,200 Indian nationals have reportedly been evacuated through these routes, including around 1,000 students and over 650 fishermen. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar stated on April 11 that an additional 312 Indian fishermen had been safely evacuated from Iran.</div><div><br></div><div>In a post on social media platform X, the Minister wrote, “Another 312 Indian fishermen safely evacuated from Iran to India through Armenia. Thank the Government of Armenia and my friend Ararat Mirzoyan for making this possible.” Additionally, during his UAE visit on April 12, Dr. Jaishankar met President Mohamed bin Zayed and expressed gratitude for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community during the ongoing conflict. Earlier, on April 5, 345 Indian fishermen stranded in Iran were safely brought to Chennai via Armenia.</div><div><br></div><div>Despite the closure of air routes, India’s Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Tehran have made every possible effort to assist distressed citizens, and the phased evacuation of Indians continues in batches.</div><div><br></div><div>According to media reports, many of those recently evacuated via Armenia are fishermen from Tamil Nadu’s districts of Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, and Nagapattinam. After returning home, the fishermen described their journey back from war-hit Iran as being like receiving a “second life.” They also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian missions for their safe return.</div><div><br></div><div>It is worth noting that as soon as the conflict began in West Asia, Indian missions across the region went on high alert. They have been continuously issuing advisories in the interest of Indian citizens, urging them to stay in touch with the embassy and seek guidance before heading toward any international border. Despite efforts toward ceasefire and peace talks, the situation in the region remains tense, and the Government of India is prioritizing the evacuation of those still stranded.</div>

Abha Singh, International Working President of the International Human Rights Ambassadors Organization Sanjay Jeevanlal Shah, National Working President of the Women's Wing Alpaben Sanjay Shah, and senior corporator Sudha Singh, among other dignitaries. The book was written by Dr. Reshu Singh (Sumadra), Assistant Professor of English. In this novel, Rupali becomes a victim of exploitation in the organization where she works. Instead of receiving support from senior officials, she receives mental torture. But Rupali does not give up and fights for justice. This story depicts the struggle and pain she faces from society, the organization, and the internal environment on her journey to justice. This is the summary of the book.  This book conveys the message that women should use their rights effectively in the workplace and raise their voice against the harassment they face. On this occasion, renowned tabla player Anuradha Pal, renowned author Dr. Kalpana Dave and Dr. Jitendra Tiwari, Director of Bharatiya Gyan Kendra, SNDT Women's University, Juhu Campus, expressed their views on the power, religious duties and dignity of women as special guests. Renowned lawyer Abha Singh presided over the book launch. While presiding, Abha Singh said that every woman has the right to live with equality and dignity. On this occasion, Dr. Meruprabha Mishra, Assistant Professor (Department of History), Shri M.D. Shah Women's College, Malad, was honored with the National Glory of India Award by the Sevapreet Foundation.  Present at the book release were dignitaries from various fields, including Nexus Capital co-founder Ram Singh, Dr. Sangeeta Radhakrishnan, Mumbai State Secretary Ashok Rai, senior journalists Raghavendranath Dwivedi, Rajesh Upadhyay, Santosh Sahu, Arun Kumar Gupta, Dr. Geeta Dubey, former Hindi Assistant Professor at the Central Sanskrit University, Nashik Campus, storyteller Jitendra Dave, national poet Dr. Rajni Kant Mishra, renowned singers Nivedita Mishra, Sulekha Vajpayee, Dr. Alka Agarwal Sigatia, Dr. Neelima Nagesh of NABARD, and Dr. Nagesh Mishra, Assistant Professor of English. The initiative, spearheaded by Dr. Paresh Doshi, Director of Neurosurgery at Jaslok Hospital and will be joined by globally recognised expert in functional neurosurgery, from the Brain Research Initiative, Paris, France, Dr. Carine Karachi. The project will be formally introduced on World Parkinson’s Day.</div><div><br></div><div>Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder worldwide, and its prevalence is rising in India, highlighting the growing need for earlier and more precise intervention tools. In this context, the project sits at the intersection of neuroscience and artificial intelligence and focuses on developing a scalable and cost-efficient digital tool for early identification of risk in Freezing of Gait, one of its most disabling complications.</div><div><br></div><div>Patients often experience a sudden inability to initiate or continue walking, describing the sensation as if their feet are “glued to the floor.” This leads to frequent falls, injuries, progressive loss of independence and a significant caregiver burden, affecting up to 80% of patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease. Despite this high prevalence and impact, no definitive treatment is currently available.</div><div><br></div><div>Although emerging research suggests that structured motor and cognitive training may delay onset, clinical practice still lacks reliable tools to identify individuals at risk or to determine when the condition may emerge. Most existing predictive approaches rely on clinical scoring systems, imaging biomarkers or biochemical tests, which are often expensive, resource-intensive and largely confined to specialised research settings. Besides none of the tool can definitely predict at individual level if one would develop freezing of gait in the course of disease. </div><div><br></div><div>The proposed AI-based system under this collaboration addresses this gap by introducing a dual approach that estimates both the likelihood of FOG and its probable time to FOG, enabling earlier clinical intervention and more targeted preventive planning. The unique aspect of time to FOG is being explored for the first time. This has been possible due availability of longitudinal clinical and video data over 25 years of more than 750 patients who have undergone DBS surgery at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre. The system is designed around a simple yet highly scalable framework that analyses routine video recordings of a patient’s walking pattern. It will use computer vision and machine learning techniques to identify subtle changes in gait and body coordination that may signal early vulnerability to freezing episodes. Since the approach does not rely on specialised wearable devices or high-cost diagnostic infrastructure, it is intended for deployment across hospitals, outpatient clinics and telemedicine platforms, including resource-limited settings.</div><div><br></div><div>To ensure clinical robustness, the research has been structured in two distinct phases. The first phase focuses on model development using retrospective clinical data and video recordings from more than 150 Parkinson’s patients who developed Freezing of Gait during long-term follow-up. The second phase will validate the model prospectively in a cohort of 337 patients followed over a period of up to three years.</div><div><br></div><div>The long-term objective of this initiative is to develop an open-access and user-friendly AI application that enables clinicians to identify at-risk patients early, estimate likely onset timelines, introduce preventive interventions at the right stage, and ultimately reduce falls, disability and overall disease burden while improving quality of life for patients and caregivers.</div><div><br></div><div>Dr. Paresh Doshi, Director Neurosurgery and Stereotactic & Functional Neurosurgery, Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, said, “Parkinson’s disease is steadily increasing in India, placing greater pressure on already stretched neurological care systems where early motor changes are often under-recognised in routine practice. This collaboration is significant because it reflects a step toward strengthening how such changes are identified and interpreted in real-world settings. It can help clinicians act earlier in a disease course that can otherwise progress silently until disability becomes more difficult to manage.”</div><div><br></div><div>Collaboration:</div><div>Dr. Carine Karachi and her team, who are the world leaders in research on FOG, have shown significant interest in collaborating with Dr. Paresh Doshi and Jaslok Hospital.
