The trailer of Umakant Pandey Purush Ya...? slated for release on January 11, 2019 was unveiled recently in Mumbai. The film has Ajeet Kumar playing the titular role of Umakant Pandey with Shivangi Singh, Mayank Jain, Srikant Karanjgaonkar, Satnam Singh, Neha, Pramod Rathod. Amit Goel, Rajan Kumar, Vikas Chatuirvedi and Rishi Bhummi in key roles. What is unique about the film is the fact that no director has been credited with the task of direction of the film but it is shared by the entire Reeling Media team, including the actors as the actor-producer Ajeet Kumar feels that a film is made by not just one person but the entire team .
The film about Allahabad based Umakant Pandey who fears that he will not be able to 'rise' up to the occasion on his crucial wedding night and is scared to discuss it with either his friends or parents is produced by Jaivindra Singh Bhati and Ajeet Kumar. Deepak has written the subject. Sagar Khatri has composed the music for the film for which Vastvik Roy has sung the songs. Ajeet Kumar asserts that though the poster shows the protagonist squatting on a toilet and the film deals with disrectile functioning , it has no similarity to either Shubh Mangal Saavdhan or Toilet Ek Prem Katha.
